চট্টগ্রামের রাশিদুল বারী ও শাহেদা বারী দম্পতির ছোট ছেলে সুবর্ণ আইজ্যাক মাত্র ছয় বছর বয়সে হার্ভার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্বীকৃতি পেল। চলতি মাসের শুরুতে হার্ভার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রেসিডেন্ট ড. ডিল গিলপিন ফাউস্টের কাছ থেকে স্বীকৃতি পায় সুবর্ণ। এবারই প্রথম বিশ্বের শীর্ষ এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় ছয় বছরের একটি ছেলেকে স্বীকৃতি দিয়েছে।

মাত্র দেড় বছর বয়সেই তাক লাগিয়ে দেয় সুবর্ণ। ওই বয়সেই রসায়নের পর্যায় সারণি তথা কেমিস্ট্রি পিরিয়ডিক টেবিল মুখস্ত করে ফেলে। তার বয়স যখন তিন, তখন লেবুর সাহায্যে ব্যাটারি এক্সপেরিমেন্ট করে। আর সাড়ে তিন বছর বয়সে বিখ্যাত একটি কলেজের প্রেসিডেন্টের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাতের আমন্ত্রণও পেয়ে যায় সে।

এখানেই শেষ নয়, ২০১৫ সালে পিএইচডি স্তরের গণিত, পদার্থবিজ্ঞান ও রসায়ন সমস্যা সমাধানের জন্য যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের তৎকালীন প্রেসিডেন্ট বারাক ওবামার কাছ থেকে স্বীকৃতি পেয়েছিল সুবর্ণ। এর আগে ২০১৪ সালে নিউ ইয়র্কের সিটি কলেজের প্রেসিডেন্ট ড. লিসা কোইকো সুবর্ণকে ‘আমাদের সময়ের আইনস্টাইন’ নামে অভিহিত করেন।

এইটুকু বয়সে এতসব কর্মকাণ্ডে মুগ্ধ হয়েই চলতি বছরের ২ মে, হার্ভার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের প্রেসিডেন্ট ড. ডিল গিলপিন ফাউস্টের কাছ থেকে স্বীকৃতি পায় সুবর্ণ। ইতোমধ্যে ভয়েস অব আমেরিকাসহ বিশ্বের শীর্ষ গণমাধ্যমগুলোতে তার সাক্ষাৎকার ছাপা হয়েছে।
